This 7 page history mentions the Crane family and other prominent names of the people who established the town of Harrison.
It specifies when the towns infrastructure was established:
Transportation like the railroad arrived in 1890.
The first settler S.W. Crane and his three sons settled in Harrison in 1891.
Businesses like lumber mills began in 1891 and a general store in 1894.
Utilities like water works in 1901, electric lighting in 1901 and telephone lines arrived in 1902.
School started in 1895 with 59 students and a school building was built in 1896.
Churches were established with Methodists in 1895, Baptists in 1900, and Presbyterians in 1901.
A newspaper started in 1895 named the Signal then the Mountain Messenger and eventually the Harrison Searchlight in 1900.

1912 - Harrison Library opened
Does not receive money from city taxes.
Receives grants from Idaho State Library.
1986 - Special meeting called by Mayor George LaValley who introduced the Kootenai Library District Director John Hartung. Hartung stated he "understands City may be interested in consolidating with Free Library District."
Library District is funded by County-wide property taxes at $10.25 per $50,000 of property value.
Election required for decision to join Library District. If passed the consolidation would start fiscal year 1987-1988.

Oct 1960 - Harrison Library's cash balance in the bank $511.86. Board raised librarian's salary from $12 to $15 per month.
Nov 1960 - Harrison board decided to join the Idaho State Library Board. Cost $2.00.
Mar 1961 - First shipment of Idaho state library books (6 boxes) were returned to the Idaho State Library. Statement by American Library Association read regarding the public being able to decide for themselves what to read rather than being censored.
May 1961 - new board President Willa Morgan presiding
March 1961 - bank balance $1,122.89.
August 1962 - Lorene Wilkerson moving away, Esther Muhs to take her place.
September 1962 - Idaho State can not provide funding this year. Impact - library cut back to being open 5 hours a week on Wed. 1-4 pm and Sat. 2-4 pm at $0.85 per hour for librarian.
