"Rock Festival Ends in Riot: What was to have been a three-day rock festival last weekend at Northwest Speedway (now Stateline Speedway Event Center) ended in rioting on the second day when promoters failed to provide the expected entertainment. Dozens of angry fans swarmed over the facility after sound equipment and musicians left the scene.
The spectators had paid $18 in advance and $30 at the gate for tickets for the event which was to have been in progress Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
