Description
A moonshine operation raided by Shoshone County Sheriff Rene E. Weniger (at right) and Deputy Charles Bloom in 1923. The still was located near the Silver Cliff Mine above Pottsville (near Mullan). Weniger and Bloom were both arrested in 1929 for failure to enforce the Volstead Act, but their convictions were overturned in 1931 during the appeals process.
