Photo 1:
"A 140 foot span of the Post Falls Bridge collapsed early Sunday Morning after an automobile accident had weakened the span. Two automobiles and three men, Bill Jones, Harry Button, and Allen Chaffin went to the bottom with the bridge. All but Chaffin were rescued, and the cars were taken from the debris on Monday" Post Falls Tribune April 1st, 1971.

"Post Falls City Police car is being towed to shore by Georgia-Pacific tug boat. The car was at the bottom of the river after being involved in the collapse of the Post Falls Bridge." Post Falls Tribune April 1, 1971.
