"The Pleasant View bridge was closed last Wednesday when Bovay Engineers noted a roten supporting member which had let the south end of the bridge sink and become dangerous not only to vehicular traffic but to foot travel as well. The Post Falls Highway District Commissioners say the bridge will be repaired as soon as estimate of the cost can be obtained." Post Falls Tribune May 13, 1971.

The election will seek authority for the Post Falls Highway District to issue $550,000 in bonds to remove the remaining structure and restore the river crossing with a 300-foot bridge providing a 32-foot wide roadway..."
