"Although the old McGuire schoolhouse no longer stands along Corbin Road today, it served the McGuire community, west of Post Falls, well during the early-20th century. The settlement rose up around the late-19th century when Daniel C. Corbin built the first railroad across the Rathdrum Prairie, connecting North Idaho with the rest of the commercial world."
